In this segment, it was about a couple who had a daughter killed in the Aurora shooting. They now travel to locations of mass shootings and connect with parents and family members who lost loved ones in a mass shooting. They don't discuss politics or gun control related topics.

But one part of it that was disgusting is that they mentioned how they have been harrassed, their son, etc by people who truly think these mass shootings are staged and that these people are in on it by claiming they lost a loved one, etc.

How fricking simple do you have to be to believe that shite and even worse, why would you harass someone because you are convinced they are part of staging it?

quote:

In just the past two weeks, there have been three deaths by suicide of people who, in different ways, survived mass shootings. Two were teenagers, who lived through the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida last year. The third was the father of a six-year-old girl, murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut in 2012.

quote:

Sandy and Lonnie Phillips know first hand that kind of grief. Their daughter was killed nearly seven years ago in a mass shooting. Since then, they've made it their mission to help others navigate the public and sometimes political aftermath of these tragedies. They travel the country hoping to build a network of survivors and offer victims and families a kind of survival guide to grief, preparing them for a future few can imagine.

Don’t you usually throw a fit when people post on the wrong board?

okay, so what? a handful of fricked up people believe the shootings are staged. There’s probably more people who believe the Earth is flat...how is this thread worthy?

this is a strange attempt at virtue signaling even for you...

Me? I am not whining you dumbass. It a thread about a segment on 60 mins involving parents who lost a child in a mass shooting who has taken it upon themselves to travel around to try to help family members who lost someone in a mass shooting.

And I think it is sick for people to harass them because those people think these shootings are staged. Those people are equivalent the Westboro people and that group has been discussed on here quite a few times.... Jackass.

Did you know there’s a small tiny little segment of the population who now believes that Space is a farce and made up?

It’s a growing disease of Ideologically-possessed conspiracy theorists and it is sickening. It’s the old Crisis Actor thing taken to insane extremes and it is being flung around 39 seconds after the bullets start. America has always had a healthy strain of this crap. It’s used to reinforce existing narratives so people don’t actually have to think, they just pull out the existing narrative and continue. It’s like seeing faces and animals in the clouds. You see what you want to see.
