Pretty good reaction time by the guard. Solid shooting. Kid didn't really stand a chance.

UPDATE: ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- The security guard behind the deadly shot that killed a bank robber inside Alpine Bank in January will not face criminal charges. That guard is now being called a hero. "There is no doubt in my mind the actions of Brian Harrison saved the lives of those that were employees in the Alpine Bank location on that date and saved his own life," Winnebago County State's Attorney Joe Bruscato, said. It took just seconds :From a quiet day inside Alpine Bank on N. Mulford to a masked gunman creating chaos. Surveillance video shows Laurence Turner coming in, shooting once into the ceiling, then at Metro Enforcement security officer Brian Harrison. Harrison is a former Winnebago County deputy who jumped into action.

Why is it news that the guard won't face charges for doing his job?

That's what I was thinking. Pretty sad it is news that someone isn't charged for killing a pos with a gun.

Guard shoots, then gets up and looks around for other bad guys before approaching, then uses a handkerchief to pick up the perp's gun.

Makes sense to investigate all killings. Obviously this should have been a very quick investigation though.

Idiots on Facebook were actually saying that the guard shoots him in the back after the threat was over, therefore it's murder. I'm not joking.
