It never dawned on you that a pornographer was a scumbag?
I find it hypocritical that he was such a scumbag but never would show any pink in the centefolds.

I never realized what scumbag Heffner was.
There's been murmurs for quite some time that Hefner was essentially installed and gifted with the Playboy empire to set up what we now see to be the first honeypot trap fixture by the CIA.
This series is the first time I've ever seen Peter Nygard's and Hef's names mentioned together that DIDN'T also invoke Jeffrey Epstein. In fact, they're going to great lengths to avoid bringing up Epstein's name. Nygard (Canada), Epstein (US) & Jean-Luc Brunel (France) were all essentially second generation franchises of the trafficking and blackmail op that Hefner started.
I can't imagine that the series is going to deal with the issue of the tunnels underneath the mansion leading to neighbors' properties, either.

quote:
According to an article on the magazine’s website, one of Playboy‘s editors was pulling photos for a project and discovered a trove of Polaroids from 1977 that seem to show a large excavation project. “We asked the new general manager about these photos,” they write, and “he said, very matter-of-factly, ‘that’s probably when they built the tunnels in the ’70s.’ ”
Further photos apparently show a collection of blueprints detailing, yes, a series of underground tunnels that connected the mansion to other homes in the area, including those of “Mr. J. Nicholson,” “Mr. W. Beatty,” “Mr. K. Douglas” and “Mr. J. Caan.” Sound like anyone you know?
One staff member purportedly told the intrepid writers – off the record – that “I heard [the tunnels] were closed up sometime in 1989.” A request to the mansion manager yielded no further information, nor did calls to the actors named above.
While the Internet geeks out over these pictures, it’s worth noting Wednesday’s date (April Fool’s Day).
Before anyone is quick to dismiss because of the April 1 date, it's worth mentioning that there's a concept called The Revelation of the Method that would easily explain why they tried to shrug this off as an April Fools' joke.

You can't be that naïve. Dude had a glorified personal brothel for decades.

One Playmate killed herself after a rape. Scrawled on her mirror were the words, "Hugh Hefner is the devil." Hef had it covered up. It never made the press.
Paige Young was her name

Myself and a buddy went to a party at the Mansion in the mid-2000's. I had been to parties there in the early-90's and it was packed with actors and athletes and it was a free-for-all. At the party a decade or so later it looked like a group of nerdy accountants and professionals. We chatted up a couple of the girls working that party and they stated that Hefner's wife at the time cleaned up the demographics and turned it into a more tame, corporate theme. They suggested that prior there were numerous rape allegations coming from those parties as well as overdoses and strongly-insinuated it was the athletes causing the problems, specifically the black athletes. We noted that Marcus Allen was at the party we were at and one girl said he was allowed because he behaved himself and plus, the women working the party thought he was attractive.

Sounds like something I’d watch when I was 11 because there might be boobs in it even though it’s on regular TV.

Someone my be legally responsible for their actions at age 18, but just turning 18 doesn’t magically give a person the maturity, and experience required to make good life decisions.

I see some poor life decisions under the interstate and they didn’t just turn 18.
Hell 81 million people made a terrible life choice. We are all feeling it.

Nobody ever deserves to be raped, but I agree you put that many young beautiful naive girls together with rich creepy old guys that are all doing drugs and alcohol and bad shits gonna happen. You avoid being raped and treated poorly as a girl by avoiding that scene and those parties altogether, not going and hoping for the best.

Like voting? I’ve been saying this for several years…18 year olds these days don’t have the life lessons to make a responsible decision on who should govern this country. 18 years old ain’t what it was 200 years ago. And before I get downvoted, I’m not a boomer.

If I’m old enough for my uncle to put a rifle in my hand to go and kill the yellow man I’m damn sure old enough to vote

It can both be true that Hefner was a dirtbag, and that the women that flocked to him knowingly sold their souls (as well as their bodies) for a shot at fame and glamour.
