Ok this is settled science I can get behind.

A study out of the University of California-Irvine has revealed that consumption of moderate amounts of alcohol and coffee is linked to living a longer life.

Next week a study will reveal that both make a third limb grow out of your a-hole.

Studies are dumb.

Does excessive amounts of both lead to an even longer life?

I am living proof that the above is not true.

Seems like half of our “news” are bullshite polls and studies.

That being said I support this one.

In other news, studies show that people who drink coffee and booze together stay up past their bedtime, rambling about the good ole days.

Why does BR do so many of these and they never come back with anything useful?

The use of the terms "lead" and "help" in that article are misleading. Actually inaccurate.

There's a correlation based on this one epidemiological survey. There are so many confounding factors and other issues with the study that I'm not sure where to begin.

Coffee has some properly established net benefits. Alcohol does not (I won't get into it all here).

One example of a confounding factor with moderate drinkers is, most moderate drinkers were never heavy drinkers. Many teetolalers are recovering alcoholics.

Then I’m going to live to be about 500 years old.

Kind of are. I remember doing a study once in college for like 20 bucks where the girl said I threw off her whole study, and her original thesis.

Which I thought was great, and told her she should still go thru with it. She had an idea, and it's not true. Thats just as valuable as proving your point. I believe we lose out on many more of those unintended disproven ones to learn from.

Aren't you like 100+ pounds overweight? I don't think you can drink enough coffee to make up for that.

I have 1-2 cups of coffee almost everyday and 3-6 beers almost every night.

I don’t care how long I live. If I don’t have those two things, it’s cocaine and whiskey.

What about bourbon, cocaine, and ribeye steak? Asking for a friend...
