Whoever it is claiming that Shannon Hoon was better, or BM was better than STP, is nuts.

BM and STP are two very different bands. BM wrote more soulful songs. I feel that if Shannon hadn't died, BM would have gone on to do some amazing things.

STP was probably my favorite band of the 90s. His addictions really screwed up them being an all time great "lasting" band. Guess it looks like they took more of a toll than just the band now. Sad.

I was probably in 6th grade and had a 3 song CD with Wicked Garden, Sex Type Thing, and an acoustic version of Plush. I wore that thing out.

Rocking to some acoustic Plush now. Grew up to his music back in the day. Good times.

God, he was an awesome frontman back in the 90's. Wish I could have seen him perform on one of his good days...

Maybe not Seattle grunge, but grunge nonetheless.

STP > anything out of Seattle.

Sucks that he went like this.

Core was one of the very first CDs I owned (thank you BMG music club for giving me 12 CDs for a penny!).

Stp was closer to guns n roses than any of the grunge bands. Most people are musically illiterates.

When guns and roses kick you out of the band for drug abuse, it's time to reasses.

I don't care what band they were "closer to", their music was moving with kick arse riffs, heart-pulsing drums, and poetic lyrics.

Back then, did any of us think that would be the last truly great decade of Rock & Roll?

This is pretty irrelevant, it's also wrong, but mostly just irrelevant.
