Yep.
Especially at Applebee's.

I believe it. Typically the dumber you are, the more stressful your life will be.

A new study shows some studies are flawed bullshite

Certainly it's a more stressful life. The difference is surgeons and other professionals will experience spiking levels pf stress while on the job while a waiter, ditchdigger, etc will live with a constantly present stress due to finances interminably. Just a stupid, no shite proclamation.

Do you know how hard it is to get triple sat then have 14 people wanting stuff at the same time, cut them some slack. It's tough to go get ketchup for table 7 when table 9 needs a ranch. It hurts my brain and stresses me out, ok?? I doubt a neurosurgeon deals with 14 people at one time.
Posted on 2/27/16 at 9:13 pm to JabarkusRussell
This doesn't surprise me at all.
Posted on 2/27/16 at 9:13 pm to JabarkusRussell
This is not surprising at all. Neurosurgeons usually don't have very packed schedules
Posted on 2/27/16 at 9:15 pm to JabarkusRussell
but the tips are better.

They don't have packed schedules because them messing up means death. A waiter messing up means table 9 got a medium well burger instead of medium
For any person with an iq over a rock the neurosurgeon would be more stressful. However, smart people handle stress better which is why this study and skewed dumb results

I love how the term "scientists" automatically lends more validity to any bullshite they may spew.

A lot of y'all either misunderstood or flat out didn't read the article. Nobody is saying that waiting tables is tougher than neurosurgery.
And really "waiter" is just a stand-in description for any menial job that tends to offer the holder little control in their professional lives.
Far from being controversial, that statement should provoke a more or less universal "Well, duh"
For a more apples to apples comparison, being a neurosurgery resident is probably more stressful than being an attending neurosurgeon, even though the attending has much more responsibility.

Eh, being the devils advocate here, try dealing with 12+ entitled idiots at a restaurant at a time. It'll make you want to cut a bitch.

You can make damn good money being a waiter. It's far more stressful than most occupations/professions. The percentage of assholes you have to deal with is extremely high

Most doctors I run across aren't stressed out at all. Just saying. A few reasons for this but mainly, I think it has to do with doctors lose so many patients no matter what they do that they feel comfortable for doing the best they can do.

Being a waiter at a successful restaurant is hard work. I believe that those waiters would be stressed. Crazy amount of multitasking.

If a neurosurgeon is going to be stressed about my surgery I would want another surgeon, if possible one that had done so many cases like mine it would be almost routine. The surgeon I have known each considered themselves to be the best in their field, and it would be an unusual case where they walked into the OR with any doubt about their ability to do the procedure. Having confidence in your abilities and enough experience takes the stress out of most types of situations.
