I'm calling you out right now & if you don't answer this question then I'm going to assume that you just made an assanine statement & you can't answer it... Why do you think it's "terrifying" if there are aliens and "terrifying" if there isn't aliens? Why in the HECK would it be "terrifying" if there isn't aliens? I mean, I can understand it being a scary if there were aliens but you went on to say it would be "terrifying" either way.
I think it would be terrifying because if there are no aliens it would mean we're inevitably doomed. There is no way we were the only species to come around it would mean all the others didn't make it.

Is it pretty much a given that if you believe in evolution that you believe in aliens?

Is it really that diff thinking there is a creator watching us all from an imaginary place no one has been to?

I think we´re one of many experiments, and possibly, the most favored.

Either we are alone and awaiting the proverbial chaos gods to find us or we are absentmindedly wandering amongst beings much bigger than us

Is it kosher to call them illegal aliens?

Enough time for stars and their solar systems to be born, live, and die..hundreds of billions of times and we are the only living things to come about and we are still in the age we are now?
While I obviously don't think we are alone or life is even rare in the galaxy much less universe, our sun is actually a second generation star I believe.
They can tell by the amount and type of heavy metals in the star and planets that can only be created by a sun/stars nuclear fussion and then are dispersed in a super nova and seeding the galaxy. Elements that weren't present in the first generation solar systems of the universe, and are more plentiful in third.
The universe is estimated at around 13 billion years and our sun is over 5 billion years old

I think we better start working on that orbital defense grid before it's too late... and some gotdamn space marines wouldn't hurt either.
