I was diagnosed with HPV+ on my tongue and lymph nodes in my neck 1 year ago this month. 35 radiations and 3 chemo treatments that ended in Feb of this year I have had 2 cancer free checkups since then and it was/is brutal to deal with.

I was on a feeding tube for 5 months and ensure protein shakes for 3 months after that and the slowly introduced soups and soft foods for a couple of months. The last month or 2 i have been able to eat most food items. I loved spicy food, now dill pickles are uncomfortable to eat, coke is "spicy and items like hot wings are a non-starter. The pain is finally gone for the most part but I have no saliva and dry mouth is a mother, it often wakes me up at night and eating with no spit sucks and causes one to drink water constantly when eating. It has improved but it has been slow. My system is over compensating for the spit by creating mucus on overload.

I am 53 and if I could go back 40 years I would for sure make different choices but people get HPV+ and the body is able to discard it, others like me not so much.

TLDR
Cancer sucks (any kind) but when it comes to mouth cancer it adds a new dimension due to eating and swallowing.

By the grace of God, I was fortunate and it was caught in the nick of time.

I had a sore throat for about 2 months and my regular Dr sent me to an ENT. He went up my nose with a scope and saw it, a week later they did a biopsy to confirm.

10? I had 10 before the age of 21. I've lost count - I have no idea how many women I've had sex with at this point. Still cancer free knock on wood

Also birth control. You can’t break a woman’s body/ natural hormonal cycle for years and expect everything to be alright. More promiscuous = more likely to be on the pill.
