Yeah. Then the white schools will have lots more than the other schools, because they tend to have much more active parents and get more donations. White parents tend to participate in the education of their children while too many of us see it as the job of the government to educate our kids. Jmo.

It's because those stats are a combination of both ethnicity and race. Hispanic is not a race. When completing a census we are all asked to self-identify both our race and whether we are Hispanic or non-Hispanic. About half of Hispanics tend to choose white and about half choose other. A much smaller number choose black. No one is assigned a race based on skin tone.

So, this is the white kids' fault? No, this just causes those who are already concerned and doing things to just have to do more, while those who aren't and don't continue to be disproportionately rewarded.

. I didn't feel like delving past the quick facts while I was waiting on my lunch to come out, so I copy and pasted. I understand how the census works, but at the very least the numbers show just how crazy the population numbers are for the LA area.

Yeah. And many maybe most of the white people in LA aren't white white. They're Arab, Armenian, Hispanic, Persian, etc.

False, it clearly provides ADDITIONAL funding for select schools, not proper funding.
It clearly discriminates against certain schools based on the racial make-up of the student body.

school boards all over the country were forced to take drastic actions by Federal Judges and consent decrees. So higher funding for minority dominated schools is no surprise, especially when implemented in the 1970s.
In 1982, trying to comply with Judge Parker's demands, EBRPSB closed Scotlandville High down, and sent half the kids to Baker High. The other half was supposed to go to Central, but they pulled some strings and avoided it. Kids wound up at Glen Oaks and Belaire.

The schools who generate additional funding outside of that provided by the Govt DESERVE THAT ADDITIONAL FUNDING. Nothing prevents low income parents from being actively involved in their children's school, in fact many are. Race should not even enter the equation.

Uh, they say that all the time. Not enough black NFL coaches, not enough black oscar winners, not enough black this, not enough black that.
ETA: wasn't there a study that said that the number of blacks shown on tv compared to the actual percentage of the population was off something like 50% to 12 %
