Teachers will do anything for another day off. The griping has already started on social media about how ""unsafe it is to go back on Friday."" Eye roll!
After this many days, they are likely facing making them up at the end of the school year, so this doesn’t make sense.

People say stuff like this all the time, but cry every time their shitty kids have to stay home with them.

Fill me in on what I, as a teacher, can DO to get another day off. The answer is nothing, but you already know that.

Once again, offering to meet any of you who don't get it at the foot of the 22 bridge in Springfield, tomorrow at 5am...

A DJ on 106 up here in NLA made a pretty good joke about it.
Said "I asked my niece what her favorite color was and she said 3. C'mon schools, we have to stay open and not close down every time the wind blows:

I took my wife to work for 10am as they ask them to come in mid morning. She works as CPA for firm with 25 people. I take her in my 4 wheel drive. Only 1 person at office. They sent text 1 hour later, don’t come in and ask if you do leave early bc roads are still bad. I saw all kinds of wrecks, had to turn around 2/3 times bc roads were closed, cars in ditches and peoples yards, people flying and hitting shaded area with ice and I slide down hill in shaded area with stop sign at bottom. Good thing no one was there. Now headed back to pick her up. Dumbasses.

MrRoboto says you're a liar and the roads are fine.

This. Kids are in Catholic school but does what the diocese tells them and the diocese blame it on public schools.
So the teachers are absolutely doing NOTHING right now. Meanwhile, my wife and I are both trying to work from home and also teach our kids, make sure they do their assignments, do their online shite. Yet do i get a credit for 2 days of the school doing absolutely nothing? No.

I been on roads this morning - most of the roads are fine until you hit hill or shaded area. I live outside of town and lots of trees and hills - roads are still dangerous. Kids ain’t going 1 day on Friday - less than 50% show up. LOL

Very surprised st Tammany is saying back to school tomorrow. The ice in the shade hasn’t even begun to melt. No way it’s gone in the AM.

They are your kids - heaven for bid you have to be a parent. You’re off but bitching about teachers. State of emergency days don’t have to be made up. LOL

They blame the public schools because "they choose" to follow what the local public-school systems do. It is 100% their choice, unless the mayor/governor steps in, but they always default to the local public school system.
Regrading tomorrow, schools are trying to reopen tomorrow because they want to avoid having to add days on the backend or lose some of their preplanned 1/2 days every month. I don't know the exact formula, but if they are knocking on the door (or have already exceeded it), then that means every day the close now is 1 less days off for summer break.

But if they open it up and let kids have excused absences, they were still opened to the total minimum days or hours they need to have to avoid adding days in late May.

And i pay the school to TEACH THEM. Otherwise, i should be prorated for the 2 days, so far, the teachers took off.

Tell that to our school. All 3 planned weather days were used up as of Tuesday. Wednesday and Today are "remote" so the school doesn't have to extend their work days into summer.
Meanwhile, my wife and I are working, parenting, and teaching. And still paying the school to not work.

Can’t stand teachers and “administrators”. End compulsory school attendance. Eliminate all government expenditures on “education”. Let parents and the free market decide the next step. It all sucks - public and private.
