Hmm I’m sure this will set well with the SJW crowd with the recent school shootings

They are actually playing it kind of wrong. The second bar of the verse.

You know the song is about the Rodney King beating and police brutality right?

I was a pretty big RATM fan and I never knew this. Are you sure? I always thought it was just about killing and rebelling against something for a purpose, but I always just assumed it was in a general sense and not about a specific event or motive. Hmm, learn something new every day.

Just read the lyrics
You can also google it and see what it is about
Zack de la Rocha has even said the lyrics were inspired by the Rodney King beating
quote:
Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses
Huh!
Killing in the name of
Killing in the name of
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
But now you do what they told ya
Well now you do what they told ya

"Killing in The Name" is a song by American rap metal band Rage Against the Machine, featured on their self-titled debut album, and was released as the lead single from the album in November 1992. In 1993, the song peaked at number 25 in the United Kingdom, but in 2009 became the Christmas number one. Written about revolution against institutional racism and police brutality, "Killing in The Name" is widely recognized as the band's signature song, and has been noted for its distinctive guitar riffs and heavy use of profanity in the outro.

Well, I'll be honest in saying that I didn't know that's were the lyrics. I thought he was saying "For those who chose to wait". It never made full sense to me, but that's what I thought they said.

I knew that he was basically a communist, and most of his lyrics were about oppression and racism. He incites violence in practically every song. I just didn't know it was specific about the Rodney King beatings.
I'm not doubting you in any of this, I'm simply saying I was a pretty big fan but admitting that I just assumed and didn't research much of his music. Their debut album is still one that I listen to regularly often. Township Rebellion and Know Your Enemy get me going every time.

Band of kids plays "46 and 2" by Tool. I think that drummer might have an extra arm and the five year old playing the sticks SLAYS.
46 and 2
RIP, LucasP

FWIW, the genius app and website is great when you don’t know the lyrics to a song..
The site breaks it down bar for bar and gives explanations about the lyrics. Go check it out

That was my team's theme song in Kosovo.
Long story short - our leadership sucked.
