Sucks to say, but women should never camp without a man present. They’re easy targets for sickos.

I actually studied abroad in Morocco one summer... Never felt in the slightest bit threatened, nor did anyone in our group. Then again there was 10 guys most of which were military and 3 girls so they were never really alone.

I was a contracting specialist for the African Lion exercise in Morocco and I had to travel, unarmed, to various Moroccan cities and talk to local vendors. Never felt unsafe or scared. I wish I could say the same for walking around the French Quarter at night

Tourism is a cornerstone of Morocco's economy and the kingdom's second-largest employer, after agriculture.

The sector accounts for ten per cent of national income and is one of the country's main sources of foreign currency.

Yeah, so not like going to Afghanistan at all.

Also stuff like this has happened a lot in America on the Appalachian Trail and other places.

in other news, cad is forbidding his daughter to travel abroad after she graduates this may.

Keep her out of Florida too. I hear more crazy stories from there than abroad.

White people probably stand out more in these places, but they’re really not safe for anyone from a Western nation.

Not true at all, and I say that as someone who has been there. I'll add that people from other countries get murdered here too from time to time.

It's like many places, if you stand out as a tourist then someone, somewhere might get the idea. But it isn't common, and it can happen anywhere including the US.

They have a section called the Gang Rape Gap where all the rapes happen. The murders happen mostly in the trail town of Monson, Maine.

This. I think its one thing for women to travel alone, its another to camp alone in a tent in a Muslim country. This certainly happens in the USA too, and again women shouldn't be camping alone.

Were these two lesbians? Seems odd for there to be just two women actually camping in a tent alone. That thought doesn't pass through the mind of 99% of women as being an enjoyable good idea.

The limbs festooned on tree limbs makes for beautiful organaments for those wonderful Appalachian sunrises.

No. There have been a few murders in the past 50 years on the App Trail, but the trail is pretty damn safe.
