dear make believe man in the sky, I know you apparently don’t have the power to prevent the fire in the first place, but I pray to you now that your powers can put it out.

So why did you post that and tie politics into it. What was your stupid arse point?

Not against prayer,
but I live by the following:

"helping hands are better than praying hands".

I'm not sure what all I could do in this case, though. Maybe help some move out of harm's way. Help folks save some of their pets, possessions.

I've always wanted to be retired and I'd go and just lend a hand. I do respect those that do this.
I knew a guy who just went from here down to the coast to help out hurricane victims. He left town here one morning with absolutely no idea where he was going to sleep along the coast that night. (This was for KAtrina) HE ended up bunking in some shelters and stayed for about a month.
One of the times he went, he was working and the President came through.

There actually was monsoon rain east of the fire, and further south.

Its possible.

I had to evacuate my house last few days.
Going back in.morning.
My town was protected by agriculture. Open fields of crops which are watered. No mountains. No forest..
Bulldozers made a 100 foot wide break 10 miles long. Dc10s dropped retardant.

The Redding fire came down from.mountains and pine forest.
The river fire, "mine", was uncontrollable in Mts, from Mendocino to close to town.
I've been up at the peak of lake men do county line. Thousands of feet down to valley. There was no stopping it in that terrain since the dc10s were busy at Redding.
When the all towns around clearlake were in imminent danger we got dc10 sorties.

The Mendocino forest goes up to 8,000 feet and 7,000 ft is close enough to us that it looms over our local 3000 to 4000 mountains surrounding the lake.

Going back in 2 hours. There is still uncontrolled ranch fire north end of lake. Air is awful.

We drove through Redding in January. It's a pretty awesome part of the country. Redding is the gateway to the central valley, and Mount Shasta dominated the horizon.

If he jumped in the pool, I wonder how he saved his phone?

When you tell someonw, 'Hey I have footage of me jumping in a pool to survive in the middle of a wildfire'..pretty sure whoever, is pulling all the stops to recover that data.

I get that but you have to believe all cruel coverage is gone which erases the cloud so the video would have to be obtained from the phone which is why I asked.

Not being a smart arse, just wondering.
