Saw something great on my Commute this morning.

I drive from New Orleans area to Baton Rogue area for my daily commute. I come in early so the bulk of the traffic isn't that bad... but sometimes there is that car that won't get out of the left lane. I can normally find my way around them by passing on the right, but this morning I followed this guy for like ten minutes. (I'm pretty used to it by now but still aggravating)
I notice a car coming up on me pretty quick so when the traffic allowed, I got out of his way to let him deal with the jerk in the left lane... low and behold it is a state trooper. He gave the guy in the left lane a few high beam flashes, when the guy didn't get over he turned on the rollers and lit him up. I have slowed down and backed off by now to watch the show and the guy still stays in the left lane... The trooper whips around the guy in a very impressive right lane pass that I'd never attempt and is now in front of the guy. He changes his rollers to the left to right pattern and just sits in front of the guy till he finally gets the picture and changes lanes to the right.
The trooper then turns off the rollers and proceeds on his merry way.
I've heard stories of them doing that but today was the first time I have seen it. I salute you mister trooper man.

Good to hear, but the idiot deserves a ticket for the first offense and lose his license for six months on the second offense.

It's shocking when you see people passed on the right, and they don't take great shame in it

They need to start giving those idiots tickets

Fixed it. I don't think he should die but should suffer a great deal.

problem is if all they do is sit on the shoulder with the radar gun they aren't doing anything to help traffic or make the road safer. Traveling fast is not inherently unsafe...traveling slower that the surrounding traffic while hindering a safe flow of traffic is incredibly unsafe
yet speeding gets you a ticket but blocking traffic doesn't

There should be a minimum left lane speed on i10. Thinking 80.

without giving him a ticket, he'll be in the left lane again this afternoon.

I had a similar experience when traveling from Houston to Nola. I'm riding behind this car while not having an opportunity to go around him when I said to my wife, "this guy needs to be pulled over and ticketed."
Not one minute later, a cop pulls up next to me and positions his car to indicate he wanted to get in front of me and behind him. I oblige and the lights go on. He actually did pull the car over. I'm not sure if a ticket was issued, but I was supremely satisfied at the swift answer of justice.

I had a similar situation in Texas a few years back. Jacked up truck with a decal covering his entire rear window. I let the trooper get behind him and after he didn't see the trooper riding his arse for about a minute he got pulled over. I assumed there is probably a law about not being able to see out your rear window.

This, although it sounds like he was on his way to something more pressing.
The guy didn't even notice the flashing lights behind him? That driver is a serious accident waiting to happen - and when it does the first words he says will be "But I didn't see him!"

After all of that, the cop didn't give him a ticket. Make sure to wave to the guy when he does the same thing tomorrow
Here's a trick to wake them up:
Ride their arse for a while....like 5ft behind them. Then, pass them, but leave your left two tires in their lane when you do. Start slowly drifting over when you get 2/3 of the way passed him. It makes people mad as frick, but who cares about making assholes mad?
I did it yesterday to a guy from Mississippi. He was waving his hands all over the place like a black chick, and yelling. All I could do was laugh. He never got out of the left lane, but I was happy that I made his day worse

So there was nobody in the right lane? why not pass him in right lane?
