Saw a turtle get run over

I tried to run out and grab it. It was in the middle of the road. A ford 350 work truck came through and clipped the front of it catapulting it up into the air. I turned it over and the head had been decapitated and its face was still on the road.
I came back an hour later and looked at the body. Flys had already started landing in its severed head.
I poked the leg to see if rigamortis had set in and it was still alive. He had movement in all legs but didnt have the power to run away.

When I saw it get hit, my first reaction was to throw my hands up and say no. There was nothing I could do. I couldnt be a paramedic that would be too stressful.

I tried to move one out of the middle of the road a few months back and the sucker sent a projectile piss stream right at me, which I luckily was able to dodged. I flung that fricker into the roadside ditch. That's what you get for trying to help.

You have an opportunity to rebuild this turtle and make it stronger than ever. Do the right thing.

Get a “Get well soon” balloon for it and tie it on his arm.

Sorry, but it wasn't still alive.

If this is the case, it wasn't alive. Reptiles will have movement in extremities for quite a while after death.
