Japan, at least where I live,is business as usual. Everyone is still at work.
Big events and concerts etc have been the things getting cancelled.

According to a friend of mine who live in SK, the mask is a necessity because of the pollution from China.

I am stuck in lockdown in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia presently. This part of the world love their masks. Even before the pandemic when I got here last June you would see people wearing masks. Mainly because they were getting over some illness which is a considerate thing to do.
Now about half the locals I see have masks even after the Malaysian government announced that wearing a mask if you are not sick is useless.

Ive been getting odd looks for wearing mine, but don't care. Im masked up when out and gloved and booted in people's houses. If I hear you cough or sneeze I put on a face shield too lol

Isn't one of the problems here that so many people bought up all the masks, thus creating a shortage for the hospitals. Or is that wrong?

I’d imagine it had a lot more to do with testing being available than masks being worn

but if something as simple as wearing masks could get people back to work quicker.......it might be worth looking into.
There aren't any masks right now. Everyone who went and bought them all up were directed to donate them to healthcare workers because they were running out.
