No fricking way I would have looked.
I’m a complete puss when it comes to that kinda stuff.

Riding a motorcycle is just fricking stupid.
No riding one like an idiot is.
Even riding one safely is pretty damn dangerous because other drivers on the road are terrible.

So the motorcycle dude was being a jackass?
Posted on 8/30/18 at 9:11 am to mmmmmbeeer
Too many careless and distracted drivers to own a bike these days.

Lost my ability to care at this point. It's a shame for the other people who were involved.

Oh I didn’t know other drivers accounted for the a-hole level of the bike rider before deciding to drive like an a-hole themselves.
My wife’s uncle was killed on his bike by an old dumbass lady who ran a red light. His low level of a-hole driving didn’t save him.

Absolutely, man.
It sucked because I could see what was going to happen before it happened. When I came over the hill I was, I don't know, maybe 1/4-1/2 mile up the road? I saw him pull out to pass and thought he was a fricking idiot. Then I saw the damn truck turning and it was one of those "oh shite" moments.
When I got closer and didn't see the bike I kind of hoped I'd just thought I saw a bike. When I saw the lady looking down and started to see bike parts laying nearby as I got closer, man, not good. Dude probably ran straight into the side of that truck at passing speed, or maybe he laid it down first. I was blocked from that view (thankfully).

I've been riding for 20+ years and I've had some close calls mostly from people that pull out in front me, but I've never been injured on a bike.

I have literally zero sympathy for the dudes on crotch rockets acting like idiots. The epitome of playing stupid games and winning stupid prizes

Even the safest, most responsible motorcyclist can easily end up a pile of mangled flesh on the side of the road.
Accidents happen and will always happen with even the safest drivers. Except when a bad accident happens in a car, you have safety measures that are there to keep you safe. On a motorcycle, even a 'fender bender' can have you face first into a tree and breathing through a tube for the rest of your life.

That's what a friend of mine said . . . .

Only two kinds of people ride motorcycles:
1. People that HAVE BEEN to the hospital.
And
2. People THAT ARE GOING to the hospital.

So he might be alive? Did he have a helmet on?
Posted on 8/30/18 at 9:20 am to TH03
Nah man, I get that. But someone else's carelessness is different than a dude acting the arse on a bike. I agree, they can be dangerous enough already....but if you ride one like an arse clown, then your chance for death or serious injury goes up exponentially.

Damn I've been there too.
2008 peach bowl. Group of friends get a cab from the Pink Pony back to our hotel. It's about 3 am. The interstate we're on through Atlanta is empty. Two rice burner cars come up behind us racing each other. Probably doing 120+. They split around our cab van as we were all in a slight left-hand curve. As the right-hand car is coming up along side of us he fishtails a bit. His right rear tire bumps the concrete sound wall on the edge of the interstate. The wall throws his rear end back left and the car flips and rolls 5 or 6 times over a span of at least 150-200 yards. Stopped rolling roof down. The entire top was caved in down to the door handles. No doubt in my mind that dude was crushed to death. Cabbie refuses to stop so we can try and help, starts speeding out of there. Bro in back seat calls 911. No clue what became of it. We felt like we were in a movie. Everyone looking at each other 1/2 drunk, stinking of stripper sweat, screaming "oh frick! holy shite! holy shite! holy shite!"

Yes, he had a helmet on. I mean without personally checking his pulse, yes, I guess he might still be alive. Based on what I saw, no, that's one dead dude.

Crazy. Yeah, flipping that many times at that speed, I don't blame the cabbie for not stopping....that was probably one ugly scene inside the car.

Riding a motorcycle isn't stupid and incredibly dangerous. Riding a motorcycle like a fricking moron with no regard for you or other peoples safety is stupid and incredible dangerous.
And when people point this out, motorcyclists get offended. It's not because we think you drive recklessly (some do obviously), but has more to do with the fact that people drive like idiots.
