No one wants to be the one stops. That's why they're trying this hand holding, we'll all cap production together thing (which isn't happening).
ETA: misread, thought it said 'why' instead of 'where'

Why has the price of gas risen a nickel/gallon or so over the last week? (I'm in St Tammany)

Salt domes, storage facilities. A lot of it is sitting in tankers anchored in various offshore locations.

Saudi Arabia is doing this to prevent Iran from gaining wealth. They have spare cash, and want to weaken the Iranians.

Speculators cause this and it throws the market into a panic. Also, they anticipated that OPEC would at the very least simply maintain last month's production cuts. Sadly, they didn't.

What do you think happened when we endorsed the removal of sanctions on Iran?

They won't cut production because they don't want to lose any of their market share. Also they can't afford to weather a financial downturn waiting on the demand to catch up with supply because they are busy funding terrorist organizations to overthrow Syria.
We need to bomb their refineries. These corrupt bastards have no interest in playing ball with the rest of the world.

Funny thing is they are going to bankrupt themselves trying to do so. Hell Saudi Aramco is contemplating going public due to this burden they have placed on themselves
