The courage showed by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday about her sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has inspired others to share their #MeToo stories. And not long after Busy Philipps posted about being raped at 14, Sarah Hyland shared her untold story too.

quote:

Using the hashtag #WhyIDidntReport, the Modern Family star, 27, bravely wrote about the assault, which took place about a decade ago, when she was a senior in high school. She wrote it was “a friend” who she says violated her on New Year’s Eve at an event where “everyone was drunk.”

quote:

He broke in to the bathroom I was in,” the TV star said. “I hoped it was a dream but my ripped tights in the morning proved otherwise.” Hyland didn’t report it for a few reasons, writing, “I thought no one would believe me. I didn’t want to be called dramatic. After all I didn’t say no. Shock can do that to a person.”

The difference is that this isn’t fishy and this isn’t an obvious political ploy

I get it but I don’t at the same time.
It’s a crime that you deserve justice for. You owe it to yourself and other potential victims to report him immediately!

All men are just considered evil now because some assholes assault women?

The Me Too movement pushes the idea that 1 in 3 women in this country are victims of sexual assault. That is a rate higher than all African countries engaged in civil wars. This is pure madness.

Go to the police.....press charges......call the MFer out.

Writing about the shite with no names doesn’t do a fricking thing about what happened to you.

Also, it’s a bad time to reveal this. There will be MANY people that won’t believe her because of the current political debate in the news.

So now the internet is just a place to be bombarded with rape allegations?

Getting tiring.

Maybe so.

I'll say this - if I was a victim of aggravated rape, I'd be pissed at these stories coming out now using similar verbiage.

I honestly don’t care anymore.

That’s one side effect of so many people latching on to this wagon.

Drunk sex + decade or more = rape

These people are making it LESS likely people will believe rape victims.

Idiots.

Even though she didn't say no. She was drunk. That means he is at fault.

Even if he was drunk too. He is 100% to blame and 100% responsible.

That's how it works these days.

Women are equal to men. Besides in situations like this. They are delicate little snowflakes.

I couod believe 1 in 3 women are the victim of an awkward and ultimately unsuccessful attempt to have sex, but this idea that turning someone down or doing something you regret equals assault is absurd.

I believe her. She has nothing to gain or lose by stating this.

It’s a sad truth but at drunk high school parties this shite happens all the time.
