There are already attorneys advertising to take cases of unconstitutional fines etc over this crap

Where is the money going to come from? Gonna throw people in debtors prisons?

The people here deserve it. Beaches and boardwalks were crowded most of the weekend. I know this because I was one of those people.

I was reading about this possibly happening the other day. I'll say this, I've seen a lot of partying out here since the governor essentially shut the state down.
That doesn't bother me, I just wonder if one of these idiots caught the covid and spread it to someone at a grocery store who otherwise has been trying to stay away from people. That would be fricked up.

And the plaintiffs will lose. I’ve seen you say this is legally unenforceable in another thread, but I haven’t seen a single viable rationale for that. There are content neutral laws in place for emergencies, and this doesn’t happen to be an exception.

The real issue will happen when the fines are not paid and the municipalities try to enforce payment. That converts the lockdown to financial gain for government.

Just tell them you are stealing a car. They will let you go.

My wife and I walked the beach on Saturday and there really wasn't that many people out there. The governor said that we could go on walks when he had his press conference the other day, guess not.

The problem is that people are still gathering in large groups.
It is one thing for you and your wife to walk on the beach, keeping distance from others.
It's another to be hanging out on the beach with 20 of your friends and family.
The frick ups who can't grasp this concept are gonna ruin it for those that are going outside for recreation like they should

Not in San Diego or anywhere near the beach that's for sure

Garcetti said the same thing about L.A. beaches. Apparently there were quite a few folks at the beach this weekend.
They are letting people out of jail early, not arresting people who would typically be arrested for whatever it is they did and then handing out $1000 fines and misdemeanors to people for just trying to be out and about. frick that!!

Allegedly Santa Monica and Venice Beach were packed. I was at Newport Beach and it wasn't busy at all. No large gatherings, just people going for walks.
