It was started here in Jacksonville, FL.

Two friends, a landscape contractor and a framing contractor, with the same tattoo used that tattoo to start the business. That's pretty much the start of it.

They have restaurants and stores here now. I would imagine they will expand.

I've seen their gear in Western North Carolina and there's no salt water there obviously.

Kind of like when people who live in a state with no mountains wear clothes that say North Face or Patagonia

I knew a guy in BR c2003 that had the sticker on his truck. He would never explain the meaning other than say it was a thing with friends in Jacksonville (supposedly it was a group that were friends with Fred Durst. Not sure if that's true). The next time I saw the logo was ~'04 at the Miami Boat show where the company had a few stickers and tshirts at a booth next to other random vendors.

Talk about making something from nothing.

What does any sticker accomplish? Besides satisfy our own narcissism.

I've never met the two original guys somehow because they run in some of the same extended circles. I probably don't have enough coin to be at their parties any longer.

I've heard the Durst connection too but can't confirm it.

There are all kinds of stories out there about them but the only thing I can say for sure is that those two I mentioned were the first two.

I did the same with some of their first fonts.

Still do when I see one of the older stickers.
