I know it will never happen because he is so busy but wish Levi would post in these threads.

Basically the GFS doesn't have the lower level circulation and middle level circulation aligned until almost landfall, while the HWRF aligns them much sooner. This is why the GFS has a weaker storm (that's intensifying on landfall) than the HWRF. Also discusses that rainfall will be a problem as many have stated in this thread.

I just talked to the Captain of my boat and he is moving it tomorrow to Ocean Springs or Orange Beach to ride out this storm. If your boat is in the water in from Grand Isle to Bay St. Louis its time to move that sucker east or west tomorrow.

Hope this thing breaks up

Levi just stunned me

talking about Paulette going into Bermuda... he said the HWRF is running weaker than other solutions on that particular storm

I didn't know HWRF running weaker was a possibility

Can someone explain the rainfall maps?

If reading correctly BR should get up to 4” & the ECMWF shows even less?

That's the WPC forecast. It's going to be more aggressive on the fringes and less aggressive in the highest totals vs a model.

The rainfall gradient should be sharp on the western side though.
