When talking about the state of the storm, looks worse means weaker.

Yes. as the crow flies New Orleans is exactly 50 miles inland from Grand Isle

As the crow flies New Orleans is 60 miles from Venice.

As the crow flies New Orleans is 50 miles from Chandeleur Sound

AKA, New Orleans is 20 miles from Lafitte (where there is actually land).

As the crow flies, New Orleans is 16 miles from Delacroix.

As the crow flies, New Orleans is 12 miles from Lake Borgne.

If this was sitting over Grand Isle, New Orleans would be getting 20"+ of rain.

I think that during future Gulf hurricanes we need a separate thread where posters can take their storm-related pissing matches.

Never going to happen. It's kind of a hallmark of any good hurricane thread.

We've tried and tried to have separate threads and they always slow to a crawl. Just a couple gifs and very little commentary of any kind. Basically rds alone.

We're taking a beating in Orange Beach.

Both my condo's in Gulf Shores have lost their fishing piers, Lagoon side.

I've been out in this shite all day sand bagging my condos.

Rain is hammering us.

Moving 20 degrees at 2 kts

You can easily walk that fast or swim that fast if you are a good swimmer.
