Pics and vid my dad has been sending of Ono Island showed docks underwater almost all day. I assume most will be gone or severely damaged after a couples days of abuse.

I think it’s better for docks to be submerged rather than getting hit by waves constantly

I am in Spanish Fort and that is my biggest fear with the saturated ground.

Like gone, gone. The water came up, started beating on the bottom of the pier boards. It all came loose and floated away. I saw multiple docks float by in ole river that were blown out. It’s going to be awhile before I take the boat again, too much crap in the water.

Sorry to hear that man, 1st world problem notwithstanding.

Saw those 74 and 75 knot SFMR on that pass and figured they would go with 85 mph.

Pressure dropped quicker than expected. Figured we would get back to 85 tonight.

Tide / surge is still where it was this afternoon outside Phoenix V. Was almost to the end of the boardwalk earlier, just checked and hasn’t made it any farther. I think low tide is at 9 PM. Power still occasionally flashes off momentarily, but not very often.

It continues to fall and it seems quicker now, could it reach CAT 2 status before landfall?

I should have specified. I meant stormchasers doing live broadcast. Thanks for the list though.

It should go without saying, but New Orleans dodged such a big disaster unfolding. 20" of rain in the city can't be handled.

Evening recon aircraft is finding that Hurricane #Sally has strengthened some this evening, and max winds have ticked up to ~85 mph. Winds of ~70 mph are beginning to move onshore along the coast of #Alabama.

Dang, the AL coast is going to be in those type of winds for hours and hours.

Since it's clearly closed off it's eyewall, yeah it's possible.

I was watching the weather on the news yesterday and there were gusts at a buoy offshore over 100mph. I was watching the news tonight and that same buoy was still getting 100mph gusts.
