Will this help reduce the chance of gulf hurricanes?

If so….I welcome it.

Doesn’t this mean we’re fricked? I feel like this always happens in bad hurricane years.

My YouTube weather guy reported on this last week. Says it will suppress tropical storm formation until it stops. Predicts it will stop later in August/September. Then it will be hurricane city.

isn't Saharan dust the required component of getting hurricanes to form off the coast of Africa?

Mostly does the opposite. Dry air = evaporation and cooling. Hurricanes hate that.

No complaints here. I'll take Saharan dust in place of hurricanes any day.

Why does dust reduce the formation of hurricanes? I assume the dust is in dry air?
