Russians Release Texas Marine Vet in Prisoner Exchange

DALLAS — After nearly 1,000 days in captivity in Russia, Granbury native Trevor Reed was released from a Moscow jail in exchange for a convicted Russian drug trafficker serving a long prison sentence in America, a senior U.S. official told the Associated Press.
Reed, a Marine veteran, was arrested in the summer of 2019 after Russian authorities said he assaulted an officer while being driven by police to a police station following a night of heavy drinking. He was sentenced to nine years in prison, though his family has maintained his innocence and the U.S. government has described him as unjustly detained.

He went to Russia to meet some chick he met online. He was there for awhile with no problems.
Then one night at a party he makes two critical mistakes.
1) He thought he could drink more vodka than Russians.
2) He drunkenly thought he was tougher than Russians and wanted to fight.
He was justifiably arrested. It was only after authorities found out he was a former U.S. Marine that they started adding bogus charges.

If you go to a foreign country, behave.
If you get asked to leave somewhere, just leave.
If someone says hey, i don’t want you causing trouble, just say ok and walk away.
You get arrested in another country, you will stay in jail for a while whether you like it or not

Another win for the Biden administration against Russia. Although I’m sure no one will acknowledge how well he’s doing. Biden and his generals are doing a great job defending the Ukraine and beating back Putin, aka Trump’s best friend. Biden showing you can accomplish what you promise without being an boisterous a-hole to everyone on social media.
