Other forms of life are as or more infinitely beautiful than mankind. Yeah, we have advanced thinking and reasoning ability, yet the advancements we've made in science -- things like, you know, the theory of evolution -- are still ridiculed by millions that prefer the literal story of Adam and Eve

but I choose to believe we didn't all evolve from an ape

First of all, humans didn't evolve from apes, and it doesn't matter whether you believe it or not - evolution is an incontrovertible fact. We're animals and just like the rest of our animal cousins, some of us are dumber than others.

Do you want to discuss odds? There are about 100 million sperm per load dropped in a woman and you were the winner, I was the winner and about 40 other posters in this thread alone were winners. What are the odds that 42 people all overcame 100 million to 1 odds and then all ended up at this exact time in this single thread to discuss this topic? I would bet those odds are WWWWAAAAYYYYYY greater than the probability of evolution occurring.

Micro and macroevolution are the same process, which is why you aren't being taken seriously.

And what you believe has no effect whatsoever on science. Evolution is a reality whether you believe it or not.

I don't see how anyone can deny it, even if they just go off of what we have seen in the last couple of hundred years. How many new species of dogs are there versus 300 years ago? Why are people much taller than a few hundred years ago? Why do girls get their periods at a much younger age now compared to even 50 years ago? Sure cross-breeding of species and environmental factors contribute to those changes but that is a part of evolution and that all happened in the last few hundred years.

There are other factors like crazy genes popping up out of nowhere, like blue eyes, that also happen and if they are dominant traits they can change a species forever. White people could be bred out of existence in one generation if you think about it. Nature is always evolving and changing and over millions and millions of years you can easily end up with changes so dramatic that the original species would be nothing like the final one. It has nothing to do of there is a God, if there is one it happens because of the rules the God put in place. Can anyone really deny that?

It is mind blowing and I kept it super simple for him. When you really think about the odds you yourself beat just by being born are thousands of times greater than winning Powerball and that is just you being born, when you add in other people and the odds of you being in situations with the odds get so crazy it is truly unbelievable.

Use an example that's not over the top. This thread is full of ignorant posts so people are taking posts at face value.

You also can't deny Bigfoot or the teapot behind the sun . It's a futile argument and not one worth debating.

What do you mean, am I serious? My example was obviously over the top but I choose to believe we didn't all evolve from an ape. That's the beauty of being human in that we have the ability to decide for ourselves what we wish to believe and what we don't...ain't it beautiful?

They arent debating beliefs...they are debating reality...

Yeah, I think the sheer number of years involved frick the deniers up. A few billion years is plenty of time for shite to get weird but a lot of people can't wrap their heads around numbers like that.

And there's no way an upstanding site like Rawstory would take this out of context to construct a hit piece, right?

Like him or not, there are scores of these folks who quote things he says out of context.

Theories that are built upon a vocabulary that primarily consists of would, should, could, it's possible, possibility, we think, etc. aren't very sound. Scientists build fancy words to cover up the fact they have zero fricking clue how we got here and how we started. Evolution is the fairy tale love story of atheists who sound just as absurd as the people they're criticizing. The mental gymnastics needed to believe evolution is on the same level as religion.

Here is a thought. What will humans evolve to if the ever growing trend of homosexuality continues? Will we become asexual in order to survive?

Yes. Of course.

Science examines conditions of Earth at the time life first appeared. From there, they construct possible models of what might have to happen to bring us where we are today. It my be guesswork, but it's based on logic. It may not be 100% accurate, but it's guaranteed to be somewhat accurate.

DNA dispels that evolution is a fairy tale. This is where you show your ignorance. If you care enough, educate yourself. Evolution is not questionable. Research will continue and the the more truth learned will prove that no 'mental gymnastics' are needed.

Humans are still evolving. We're bigger faster stronger and smarter than we were 10 thousand years ago. Hell, we're on average taller than we were 500 years ago. People need to get the bible out their heads especially if they don't even follow through with half of what the book preaches.
