The chick is a super good drummer, but I'm really feeling a chick overload lately.

Still:

That’s funny. I didn’t have MTV growing up and my exposure to Rush was limited. I feel like I should like them and know them more. Led is my favorite band of all time.

Not sure how old you are. I'm 65 and Led Zeppelin is my favorite band of all time. Rush is in my top 5.

Neither one of them was an MTV creation. Zeppelin was pretty much done before MTV became a thing, and I don't recall seeing many Rush videos.

It's worse than that.

But I'd still see them just to say I did.

Folks thought AC/DC was gone post Bon Scott.
Sometimes it works out.

As for Geddy's voice I do believe the time off and the addition of a keyboardist may be keys. He can focus on bass and vocals/.

I missed seeing Zeppelin live by days. My cousin was taking me to the show in 1977 when tragedy struck just a few days before.

The only time I really blast Rush is on the golf course. I like to tee off on number one to the 2112 Overture.

I was in high school in Tulsa then. I didn't become a big fan until college.

They came to Oklahoma City that year and one of my classmates hitch-hiked from Tulsa to OKC to go see them. I was not that brave / bold.

Not playing many dates.
But,let's be honest. It'll be somewhat a cover band, since Peart has passed away and Geddy will probably have to use backing tracks for vocals.

Of note: I've seen Rush twice, both times in the late 80s and early 90s. Impressive both times.

I am wondering if this is just a start and they will be adding stops on the tour. Interesting they play two dates in Fort Worth with an open day in between. At this stage in their career, they can afford to take it easy on the tour and not get exhausted playing night after night.

Don’t know if I want to see Rush without Peart, that’s like seeing Zeppelin without Bonham….

Journey without Steve Perry.

Off the top of my head. Listen to their isolated instrumental tracks to see how great they are.

Strong Point.
And most of the Songs on the Top Selling Album, Back in Black, were Written before Bonn Scott died.
Brian Johnson, was the 1st guy they audtioned for the part and the rest is history.

Dude really took the even further with a whole new generation of fans.
Its nuts.
When you compare the Singers they are very different. But both very good.

50th Anniversary .... geez I'm old

Agree with the comment about "not sure I'd want to see them w/o Neil Peart" though

She's is good, just wonder if she has Peart's chops...

His bass drums use to sound like cannons live. He also use to wrap the kick drum mallet shafts with electrical tape because he would break them, and the broken shaft would go through the head.

I’m 53 and I really don’t know why Rush kinda fell through the cracks for me. I drove to Colorado in the summer of 92 for a summer job, bought the Led Zeppelin box set of cassettes and listened to it the whole trip and summer. But bands like The Who, Rush, and Pink Floyd never made it into my music library in my early twenties.

The chops of one of the best drummers in the history of Earth?

Probably not...
