On a 4 way stop light in a residential area, if no one is coming, do you run it?

No because I’m not a troglodyte that can’t wait 20 seconds for it to turn green

Cleat vision all-around?

No trees, bushes, obstacles?

I'll do a stop and go, if safe.

I suppose you think a cop is a-hole for giving you a ticket if you do this

1 of those four way stop traps that cops do to make money

I’ve done it without thinking and then realized I did a few times. I don’t do it on purpose though. It does seem ridiculous having to sit there for nothing.

A town west of us had their traffic light go down and they put up temporary stop signs, the traffic flowed so much better that they did away with the lights altogether.

My point. I wouldn’t do it unless there was a zero chance of accident

I really wish more towns would adopt the blinking yellow for major roads and blinking red for side streets after 9pm. They do this all over rural nebraska and it makes life a ton easier.

“Run it” is the wrong term.

Come to a complete stop. If it’s a long useless light that shouldn’t exist in the first place, stop, look all directions, and proceed as deemed appropriate.

Do the right thing. Even when no one is watching.

We really need to find a way to implement AI for more efficient traffic signaling for sure.

Why would anyone run a red light?

What if I told you that stopping at a red light just because it's red is actually the wrong thing?

The government's lightbulb doesn't keep you safe. You should check for when it's safe to proceed through an intersection. If there is so much traffic on a road that everyone slowing to a stop and checking up actually makes the flow of traffic less efficient, only then should lights be installed and obeyed.

If you obey lights when there's no traffic, you are brainwashed and conditioned to obey the government just because, and for that you are in the wrong.
