used to live the Texas Cyclone at Astroworld back in the day. Now I avoid wooden coasters in my “old age”—fricks up my back for a day or two (no back injury or anything, just too jarring).

Carowinds has some bad arse roller coasters (Fury 325, Intimidator). It’s a Cedar Fair owned park, so I think there are clones of other coasters at other parks.

Only time I went to Kings Island, my dad's really important blue prints got misplaced, and my brothers and sisters and I spent the whe time looking for them. Luckily we found them just in the nick of time for his presentation.
According to a Houston-area source here with what he claims to be firsthand knowledge, your dad played the skin flute.

Kings Island is nice, was basically my only summer trip in my entire childhood. Fond memories for sure, but I haven't been in 20 years.

King Cobra, Son of Beast and backwards Racer being removed was bullshite. Son of Beast was always broken down and only time I was able to ride it was we happen to be walking by when the worker was moving the closed barrier after if not being open at all that day.

Word on the street is that they're getting a B&M giga for 2020. The layout looks short, but it's still a giga, so whatever.

We go up to Kings Island every year in September for Procter & Gamble appreciation day. They rent out the park for employees and former employees, and a friend has a mom that's a former employee. Every ride is at most a two train wait.

Backwards Racer FTW! But yeah, Kings Island is awesome. Do they still sell beer there in the Oktoberfest area?

Go to Kings Island when it's off-season/schools in session. Dealing with the overweight derelicts from Kentucky and WV is a bit depressing tbh. Although I think all theme parks bring out the poor.

I went to King's Island years ago. The first thing we did when we got there was eat in the food pavilion. I had the Chinese, and subsequently got one of the worst cases of diarrhea I've ever gotten. I got to ride one ride, I think it was a Mayan themed rollercoaster maybe. After that my stomach started cramping, I ran to the bathroom, and rode the porcelain throne the rest of the time. The bathrooms there were not air conditioned, so it was like 100° in them. That was one of the most miserable experiences I think I've ever had.

Cincinnati Ohio?

You need to make the short drive up to Toledo and hit up cedar point. That's where roller coaster enthusiasts go. That's an awesome park. I'm not saying Kings island isn't, I've never heard of it though.

I was there yesterday, too! First time actually. We usually go to Kings Dominion or Busch Gardens in Virginia. Had a lot of fun, though. I liked The Beast, but man it was rough. I think I have a bruise Havent been to Cedar Point since I was a kid and was too short to ride some of the coasters, thats next on my list to hit up again.

ETA: Loved the short lines yesterday too. Think the longest wait I had was the indoor Flight of Fear.. took about 25 minutes. Every other line moved pretty quick though. Lots of field trips there it seemed like yesterday.

Yeah and when they get to Toledo drive almost the same distance east to actually get to Sandusky where Cedar Point is located.

Well, that might help. Lol It's been about 15 years since I was last there.

Dollywood has some very good coasters. The lightning rod scared me like no other. I probably won't ride it again.

I was just busting your balls. The worst part of Cedar Point is the fact there are so many prime real estate locations that are on the water facing it and they have HUD houses
