Yep. Same area code+first 3 numbers of my cell and it's a wrap. I get 2 or 3 daily like this.

They have some crazy ex-girlfriends out there that laugh at these numbers.

Then the phantom missed call from a cell number. If you call it back the person answers but has never called you.

I have the same issue. Just like you I just don't answer calls from my previous area code. And I block the number each time. I know it's dumb since they have nearly unlimited numbers...but it makes me feel good anyway.

Honestly I’ll miss these. It was nice to talk to someone

This guy should be forced to sit in a cell all day solitary confinement. Then give him a cell phone.
Tell him when the warden calls he has to answer and that's when he gets to go out and eat and have some free time.
Then just sporadically spam call him so he's always waiting on a phone call and always answering some bullshite spam call instead. I bet after a few days he'll be 100% insane.
Punishment should fit the crime, IMHO.

Everyone on this thread should download the Mr. Nunber app. With its call blocking I still get the occasional scan call, but its WAY down!

The problem is you are blocking legitimate numbers.

I used to have an issue where I'd have 3-4 people a day calling me and saying "hey, im returning a call from this number."
"I never called you."
"Yes you did."
"whatever you say, sorry, bye."
Realized after a while that this scam service was using my number quite a bit to call people and people were just calling back. so annoying. they need to drop this dude in the lava at hawaii

The calls were also disguised to make them look like they're from legit well-known travel companies and hotel groups like Marriott, Expedia, Hilton and TripAdvisor. In fact, TripAdvisor was the one that reported the operation and the one that figured out the connection between the calls and Abramovich in an independent investigation
A bit ridiculous that TripAdvisor was the on ethat had to make the connection to Abramovich. The FCC doesn't seem to care much about these operations until it falls in their lap.

At a minimum the OT needs to sign him up for every piece of junk mail known to man. And send him a playgirl susbscrption in the lockup (assuming he gets even a couple months deprived of his liberty).

The ones that tick me off are the hangup calls. At least if I can get to a CSR I can troll them and waste their time.
Best case I get a callback number (low odds but worth the effort) and can trap the company with proof that they illegally robocalled.
