AMITE---That which was supposed to be a simple "procedural" meeting of the Tangipahoa Parish School Board's personnel committee evolved into one board member's preemptory call to hire a black principal for Hammond High.The Tangipahoa Parish School Board’s personnel committee approved the recommendation of two new principals and 22 assistant principals, and various support staff for the upcoming school year, but the bulk of Monday’s discussion was not about the appointees. Instead, freshman Hammond board member Betty Robinson monopolized much of the committee’s discussion on Monday when she demanded to know when a permanent principal would be put in place at Hammond High, and she said she wants that principal to be blackLINK
