That's pretty much impossible unless you've never listened to the radio or watched TV.
I mostly listen to talk radio or classic rock. I could have heard it and not knew it was him but I don't usually listen to stations that would play that genre.

Is this perceived as a good choice?

Why now? Seems 5-7 years too late.

I crossed paths with Emily Rata....whatever at the Super Bowl a couple of years ago in Houston. I’ve never seen a more stunning creature in person. Truly amazing.
She's pretty, but has a horrible belly button.
Looks like she is carrying sliced ham in it or something.

I am being serious. I haven't followed his career much, but didn't he just have one hit? I think he might have produced for other artist right? But as for as his own music career he just had that one hit?
And I hate that damn song so much.

Hell yes, Reb. Perry Como was the King of Bacchus the year I was a page in Proteus. I remember watching him.

From celebrities like Bob Hope, Jackie Gleason, Will Ferrell and others to this? Good God what a fricking embarrassment.
Someone told me years ago that the those with celebrity kinds/grand marshalls are usually working on a few names at once - usually a A lister (best option they have) and a back-up B-lister type of thing.
Celebrities get call backs for filming, offered roles, etc. all the time and their timing changes. Or the agent suddenly sticks their hand out, etc. Thats one reason they usually wait to announce them into a month or two out.
When its a B-lister, you can usually assume someone else was in talks but pulled out for one reason or another.
Bacchus in particular seems to have a lot of celebrities with New Orleans connections. Hugh Laurie has spent a lot of time in New Orleans, for instance.

"Nick Cage in 02 is hilarious". B-in-law was an officer in Bacchus back then & he said Cage was the first king who was "very close" to being kicked out of the parade. Coked up all the time & would show up for fancy Bacchus dinners in dirty jeans & t shirt under a blue jean jacket.Bacchus reserves several hundred tables, in the midst of M.Gras, at Antoine's, costing Bacchus well over $100K & Cage no showed. He was so coked out he could not stand for his costume setting.

Does not surprise me one bit...

Rummel, where are the Austin area LSU posters watching the game on 1/13?

I was there.
If I recall right, that year they also had an all-star float of past Bacchi. That was a cool thing to see.

I would say he has had more than 1 hit. Blurred Lines was his biggest song that kind of transcended and dominated basically every pop, Hip Hop, and R&B chart. But overall he is an R&B artist, and in the R&B field he has a number of good sobgs.

Hence, as another poster mentioned, GW Bailey.
Or, this year, Robin Thicke.
