Robber trying to rob gun store gets shot by shop employee and dies

At about 3 p.m., Houston police responded to a shooting at the Carter's Country store located at 11886 Wilcrest Drive.

The suspect went next door to a gun shop and went behind the counter to go through the cash register, according to police.
An employee told investigators they were in fear for their safety when they shot the suspect.
