Road warriors that are currently grounded from traveling

and have children. This curse of a pandemic has been one of the greatest blessings I have had in a long time, to be at home with my children and wife.
While I know many of us like to joke about Jody, Kevin, Karen and divorce rates --- and rightfully so, those of us who travel a great deal and are now at home and have been for the past 6 weeks or close to it, enjoy and embrace it because it won't be like this forever.
"Don't Miss Your Life - Phil Vassar"
One of the greatest songs, IMO, about working away from home and constantly being on the road.

Not really. The frequency that I am able to provide makes up for the size limitations I am faced with.

It's almost opposite for our crews...they're still working but can't come home on rotations except for special circumstances

you and i have talked about work travel a good bit. it's been mostly refreshing, but one of the things i liked about the road is that i really enjoy my alone time. obviously family is more important than that but i do miss some aspects of it.

I don't. Yes, an occasional trip or two with the guys to get away, sure. But not week after week. Gets old. Fast. Plus eating out every night sounds exciting to those that don't do it often, but I'd rather have a meal from home.

I think there is more to it than this. I think proximity is one of the most important things. If somebody is in your face 24 hours a day, even if they are feeding you homemade chocolate chip cookies with cold milk, you are going to get sick of it.
Alone time, spent playing a mindless video game or whatever, is important.
