Agreed, a lot of people point to road rage as the problem but it’s actually the breaking point from issues leading up to that. I imagine that guy wouldn’t do what he did if he had a promotion at work earlier in the day.

It’s an obvious overreaction, but thanks for outing yourself as a crappy driver.

Because most people are a**holes. Had an incident the other day with the wife and i were on a 2 lane road where some guy was driving a big 4 wheel drive truck in front of us . The speed limit was 55 guy was barely driving 50. Of course my wife was driving and she was getting closer to him so he starts slowing down to about 40 in
front of us.
Had it been me i would has blown past this guy in a heartbeat in the other lane. My wife was like im not passing him there are double lines blah blah. Finally she passes him i roll my window down and give him the bird as we pass him. I know it was a dipshit move but dang it felt good.
To answer your question though had dumbass in front of us not did what he did then it wouldnt have evoked me becoming one as well.

LEFT LANE FOR PASSING ONLY.
Then get back to me.
Then get back to me.

Carrying the firearm(s) that I lost in the great boat accident of 199FarkYou calmed me down for years, but now I'm old, an I just hate everyone with keys.
Reduce Road Rage? Start driving and not do other things while driving. Was that too easy? Too simplistic? Too easy? I know, it doesn't address OP's original situation, but I've sat behind MFers in my hood trying to go straight from a right turn lane, so I sit there, waiting on them... it isn't the Bronx, you're not gonna die if you have to turn into the Aldi parking lot to maneuver to pick a different lane, you oxygen thief.

My whole point is, why do people let a questionable driving decision that had absolutely no effect on them bother them to this degree?
I try to measure road rage against navigating a grocery store whilst pushing a cart. People don't seem to get mad at some slight in store when you go around them while they're grazing the salsa aisle. You might get annoyed with the person passing you or the person blocking you, but you don't start yelling and tell the person to "go frick themself" while flipping them the bird.
Never understood why the equivalent of doing that on the road sends the people into a blind rage. I suspect it's the disconnect between people and vehicles.
A vehicle driven by someone that can't hear you, and likely can't see you causes you to act a way you wouldn't if you could actually have a person to person interaction.
George Carlin had a great bit on this where he basically says the volume at which you call a baw an a-hole is directly proportionate to the chance of said baw hearing you call him an a-hole.
ETA: Almost forgot to mention, most of the people in the way are stupid.

I'm going to use this thread to highly recommend binging a show called Beef on Netflix. I thought the acting was great.

Anyone in the way of my favorite plane drivers on the planet are certifiably stupid. Notice how nobody claims to be a C5 driver here? lol.
I do not get the inability of people to just DRIVE. If you're on Route 66 or in transit from Omaha to Grand Forks, OK. I can't recall picking up my phone on I-10 between Houston and BTR since the one time I almost did it in the 90s.
Cars are kinda like the Internet; because you have a few thousand pounds of metal around you, you get bold. Nobody driving a car these days under the age of 50 has been punched in the face for being a less than respectful human being, probably even as a teen. Social media fights are not being punched in the face.
However, there is a counterpoint. People that are not admonished for repeated bad behavior will repeat it, partially because of a lack of social punishment or ridicule. So, should we just shake our heads and use various four letter words under our breath while person A parks in the Target pickup slots while they go to buy socks for their kid (that was Thursday.) What about all the nice, observant folks that go the wrong way on a one way street because they're too worried about XYZ?
It sure as hell hasn't gotten any better in the last 25 years, but it's only getting worse, and I think a large part of that is the fear of anybody saying anything to anyone that is engaging in f*#kery that is impolite to society.

It has to be some mega-overinflated sense of ego and being disrespected by the driving act.

Lunatics all over. Seen people serve at other cars then jump out of their expensive cars (like a Tesla Plaid and new Suburbans) at stop lights in road rages.

I drive the speed limit cause I don't like paying $267 dollars for a speeding ticket.
Plus I don't like the fact that I am already paying high vehicle insurance premiums and some speeding ticket will only give the insurance company a good excuse to jack up my rates even more.
So yeah, I'm gonna drive the speed limit.
Usually its some entitled 'Karen' or some 290 lb 5'4" clown in a truck with 22" tires who are tailgating me or honking their horn because I drive the speed limit.
Is it really that important to get to your destination 5 or 7 seconds earlier to risk not only the lifes of other drivers but also the lifes of you and your passengers?

Why were you in such a hurry to get to the car wash?
