Rittenhouse take: what kind of a-hole is the business owner?

Honestly. I mean, what kind of irresponsible a-hole gives a 17-year-old a gun, and asks him to defend their business?
I don't know if the kid is in the right or the wrong legally. I don't care to argue that point.
I want to discuss this "friend" who armed a 17-year-old kid and tasked him with protecting his business.
And what about Rittenhouse's parent's? why did they allow their underage son to go do this? Why would they allow him to drive 20-45 minutes or so away to a dangerous situation?
Maybe they didn't know he was going there. THat's a legit possibility and better than if they gave him their blessing to participate in this scenario.
If that is the case, I'm suing the business owner for his irresponsible handling of this. He put the kid in danger. He deserves to face some consequences.
Also, I know theres a debate about whether the kid was legally allowed to have the gun. Someone in the other thread posted that someone under 18 cannot open carry. that could be complicated. Especially for the person who gave him the weapon.
I do want to know if the fact he didn't own a gun license in Wisconsin could come into play.(the fact he was too young to get an open carry in Wisconsin seems like it could complicate his right to have one. But i don't know for sure.)
Anyway...I'm just pissed that this kid was put in this situation in the first place, and I feel that the person or persons who armed him and put him in there should get some blowback.

How old do you think many/most E-1s are?

Does traffic fluctuate that much up there?

I'm sure the route affects the time too.
I don't know how long it takes to get from his town to that one, so I just gave a time frame that would cover it.
My point remains though.

I'm sorry. Was the business owner the US military?

He had just gotten off work lifeguarding in the area. He didn't drive anywhere. His parents likely didn't have much control over him given he was already in the area.

There were quite a few 14-17 year olds that lied about their age to go fight in world war 2.
So if tomorrow he turned 18 and could go to boot camp, he would have magically aged and been a different person than last week?

I'm with you on this. Attempting to prosecute the kid as an adult is a mistake, the DA should be focusing on the manipulative adult who placed a minor in harm's way.
As to someone's question about E-1s, a 17 year old may enlist, with parental permission, but may not take a direct part in any hostilities per the Child Soldier Treaty. Question for the recruiter/MEPS types out there: Can a 17 year old enlist as an MP, or do they have to be 18+?

Desperate times call for desperate measures. You may not have a full understanding of what’s going on in our country. People are losing everything they’ve worked for. And yes, we’re now at the point where casualties are acceptable

Takes me anywhere from 10-120 minutes to get to LSU depending on traffic.

No you don’t.
That’s like me saying I’m pissed about the African American on African American gun violence that plagues this country.

He did take out the two aggressive targets and protected himself, so he knew how to effectively operate the weapon.

Obvious liberal concern troll is obvious

Your entire post questions the young man defending a business with a gun and not once did you question why the liberal “peaceful protestors” attacked this young man carrying a gun. Maybe you already realize these protestors were in the wrong here. At least I hope you do.

As far as George Washington and I are concerned, yes.
