Most people don’t remember that he was on Days of Our Lives for a few years.

That's because most people don't watch Days of Our Lives. That show still comes on?

He was the last surviving member of the cast.

When he was 16, he and his family were sent to Auschwitz, where his parents were murdered in the gas chamber.

“My mother said the most remarkable thing,” Clary told the Reporter in 2015 about that day. “She said, ‘Behave.’ She probably knew me as a brat. She said, ‘Behave. Do what they tell you to do.’”

Clary was the only one from his captured family to survive. He wound up incarcerated at the Nazi concentration camp Buchenwald for 31 months, where he made wooden shoe heels in a factory and got the identification number “A-5714” tattooed on his left forearm.

Really good link, thank you.

So many things: last of Hogan's Heros. Played accordian and sang for the SS at Buchenwald And made shoe heels.

My Father really enjoyed Hogan's Heroes and I don't think he knew about Clary's history.

Hogan’s heroes brings back memories of my childhood. I honestly didn’t know there was any of that cast left.

He came to two different schools of mine to talk about the holocaust.

One in Germany and the other in Las Vegas. We talked a few minutes after the LV visit.

Very cool dude from what I remember.

Trivia:

The only 2 Hogan’s Heroes cast members to serve in the US Army during WW2 were the Germans- Klink and Schultz

How about that???
