His music was simple and terrible. But he did make a ton of a beach bum genre. So congrats.

Music snobs are such figs and love to hate…

Pirate looks at 40, tin cup chalice , come Monday , he went to Paris…are all outstanding songs.

The music snobs like to focus on cheeseburger and margaritaville to justify their miserable opinion. Go listen to Radiohead fggt

I’ve always been into music and I appreciate talent in most genres, Buffett’s music is easy to play but his gift was as a story teller and really creating a niche for himself(heavily influenced by The Beach Boys,) every time I learn a new lick I go “that’s easier than I thought,” and my immediate response is always “yeah, but you didn’t invent it,” same with him, he started all of that and really a shite ton of people have tried to imitate him and try to catch that vibe but none have come close

Read dozens of books about heroes and crooks and I learned much from both of their styles…

My father was a sailor but I never learned enough to fully embrace it myself. I used to tell my sons they were the son of a son of a sailor.

Am I the only one that sees the irony in the fact that this sounds like the basis for a Jimmy Buffett song?

I'm with you. People loved the feeling of whatever it was they were doing while listening to a Buffett song, which was usually drinking and relaxing.

To buttress McGruff's argument, if blackout drunk fraternity kids can seamlessly sing your music, you're not that special.

I honestly don’t see how anyone could bash Jimmy Buffett, as far as his body of work

Went to a show of his at Ladd Stadium in Mobile as a kid.

That's the stadium I played high school ball in.

Sad to see him go but he lived a fun life.

He got it.
