ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) —
If you didn't know that Harry Anderson was an Asheville, N.C. resident, it's a tragic time to find out.
Harry Anderson, the 'Night Court' star who made Asheville his home, died at age 65 at his home in Montford, Asheville police confirm.
The actor, comedian and magician was best known as Judge Harry Stone in the 1980s-1990s sitcom "Night Court."
He also made several appearances on "Saturday Night Live."
He relocated to the Asheville area from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
Anderson leaves behind a wife and two children.

He was very active after the storm but got fed up and left. Shame he died.

I really liked that show. Hope Netflix picks it up now.
Hipsters in NOLA will do a second line for him.

Damn I haven’t thought about that show in a while. RIP. I had no idea he was 6’ 4” until it came up on a google search. I always thought he was short for some reason.

Damn. Haven’t heard that name in probably 25 years. Loved watching Night Court when I was a kid.

He left after Katrina. Hipsters aren't going to know who he is.

Night Court was a great show. Harry Anderson and John Larroquette were really funny and Markie Post was FINE!
I think he had a magic shop in the Quarter for a while. He might have also been involved with a comedy club. He lived in N.O. for years.
Only 65 ... that's a shame.

Before Katrina he lived in New Orleans & had a magic themed place in the Quarter near Esplanade. This sucks.

Sorry to hear this, he was talented. Didn't know he was a New Orleans transplant.
I liked Night Court a lot, but it was produced by the Barney Miller team, and the jokes were similar. It was still funny though. I guess the reason some of us thought he was short is that Richard Moll and John Larroquette were that much taller.
RIP Harry.
