I actually went back recently on Spotify and did a George Michael binge.
His stuff really holds up more than just about anything pop wise from the 80s.
A handfull of his hits could easily be on radio today and not stick out.

This news has me so bummed. He was absolutely iconic and his voice was golden. One of the best and most influential singers ever and at 53, gone way too soon.
His very promiscuous lifestyle in a time when HIV thrived, and people either ignored it or didn't really know about it, will probably be his undoing. Him surrounded by friends and family as he died is all to remanent of when my Uncle passed from AIDS-related complications. And he would be around Michael's age.
The song LAST CHRISTMAS will take on an all new meaning. Fitting that he would sing that song and then pass on Christmas.

Wham! was right in my wheelhouse as a suburban teenager in the 80's. They struck pop gold and had a run that's often understated among the umpteen great 80's acts. They were HUGE there for a while.
Glad they made Last Christmas... immortalized them for generations to come.

Did not read the whole thread, so this may have been posted. But anyway, per TMZ:
