I don't want to get all overdramatic but this news kind of ruined my Christmas mood this afternoon.

I can't put into words how much of my teenage years were set to George Michael (and Prince). To lose them both? Just sucks tremendous arse.

"Freedom! '90" is my go to song. And the video? Best. Music. Video. Of. All. Time.

Godspeed, George.

another good song from him, that today would be mercilessly attacked by the snowflakes. A few lines:
Now you tell me that you're having my baby
I'll tell you that I'm happy if you want me to...
They told me marriage was a give and take
Well now you've got some givin to do

Dude would be labeled anti-woman, anti-mother, deadbeat father, and all sorts of stuff with those lyrics.

Things have changed.

RIP George Michael .

There is no one really neck & neck with Michael Jackson in international popularity unless you summon religious or political leaders.

International album sales alone

Thriller - 65 plus million sold

Bad- 34 million sold

Dangerous - 30 million

History(expensive double LP)- 25 million

Off The Wall- 20 million copies

Invincible - 13 million ( considered a Jackson Flop doubles any Prince sales besides Purple Rain)

Purple Rain - 20 million copies worldwide would be Jacksons 5th best selling album.

No other Prince album , other than maybe 2 others ,sold more than 5 or 6 million copies besides the Batman soundtrack.

Prince was an opening act for Rick James once & that was THE comparison( Rick James vs Prince) until Purple Rain.

Must have been marketing because outside of "Billy Jean" Thriller sucked. His album for Thriller was better.

If every record Jackson ever recorded "sucked" ( in your opinion) what does it matter?

No one was ever more popular than this man & Prince (I'm a fan) certainly wasn't "neck & neck" with Jackson on an international scale.

Both Black icons who peaked nearly simultaneously is the reason for the comparison.

We're talking popularity & no musician has reached Michael Jackson on an international scale.

Rip. George Michael

If God were political he would almost certainly be liberal. He's pretty big on caring for the poor and less fortunate

Agreed. However, when it comes to sexual deviance, GM and MJ are top two.

RIP to one of the greatest vocalists and performers of all time.

"I Want Your Sex" is a standard airplay every Friday night at the Hi Ho Lounge "RELAPSE 80s and 90s Dance Party" with DJ Matt Scott. I'm sure that the next couple Fridays will feature a heavy dose of Wham! and GM's solo material.

Except that's not what liberals do. They contribute to charity on average, FAR less than Conservatives. And wherever they govern, human misery and poverty soon follows. All you are proposing is a less efficient manner to disperse wealth through society; higher taxation, less private property rights, less economic opportunity, less individual responsibility less liberty and higher State coercion. Your good intentions can't change the faulty assumptions of a shitty political/economic philosophy.

Apparently he had become obese per TMZ. I cannot seem to link the photos from my phone but here is the article with a couple of pictures

LINK
quote:

George Michael was reclusive and struggling with his weight in the months before his death. These pics were taken in mid-September at a restaurant in England, and it's apparent the singer had gained a tremendous amount of weight. He was rarely seen out in the months before his death.

That is not George Michael. That's the 340 lb OT that LSU is recruiting out of Bunkie. Keep your boards straight.
