Kerry Goode, former Alabama and NFL football player, has it and has been giving updates on Facebook since he got the diagnosis. I don't have Facebook, but my mom will read me an update from him occasionally. For those going through it, or dealing with a loved one who is, his experience and words may be of some help or comfort.
I don't know the best way to link him, but a search of his name should bring up his page and articles/interviews with him.

Damn, I didn't even realize he was sick. ALS and cancer are the worst. I'd rather go quick than whiter way to nothing having people wipe my arse and not be able to talk or anything.

i thought the last ship was his best role. really good show, especially as a rewatch during or right after covid. Wish season 5 was available.
