Or just frick all that and go to WAFB.com and give them your clicks. Hell - I learn more on this site than I ever would on the Advocate. Frankly I can't believe it's still behind a paywall. You people actually pay for that dogshit? For typos and lazy reporting? No thanks..

No. They had a living room rug they paid paid 6 figures for. They kept bragging about the damn rug to everyone and would scream and holler at any staff members who went near it. Total assholes.
We met him a couple of times. Know about that rug. That actually caused us to change our minds about ever doing business with him.
No regrets.

He fired a friend because he had the wrong degree to work in the warehouse.
Not sure why you are defending him on this matter, he was notorious for doing shite like that.

I appreciate your effort, but I still don’t know how to.

Horse shite. You can be a driven, ruthless, cunning tycoon without being a complete cocksucker to people. Especially the people who work for you.
His rudeness wasn’t a product of his business acumen. It was rooted in his abhorrent belief that he was better than others.
Face it. The guy was a dick.
I’ve met a few billionaires. The two biggest dicks were Jim Bernhard and Tracy Krohn (W&T Offshore)

Have never heard someone say they were fired this way.
I golf with a couple of guys who worked there during that time and they both said that they witnessed an elevator firing. One was because the guy wasn't wearing a tie.

Don't think I have defended him as much as pointed out that no one has first hand accounts of him randomly firing in the elevator. Even though this appears to be a near daily event.
only first hand account in the thread just has him asking the poster what he did for his paycheck.

Had a couple of friends that worked for him years ago. Supposedly back in the late 90’s elevator firing’s were going at a clip of once per week. For everything from no tie to wearing white after Labor Day. He ran a tight ship.

True. The difference is that Tracy was a fricking moron. At least Jim was brilliant to go along with being an arse.

No but I know a story about an employee drinking Starbucks coffee when he provided a different brand for his employees. Mellow Joy I think.
I worked on a state project that had a large portion of Shaw employees. One day, he mandated that Shaw would only allow Mello Joy to be provided for his employees. It tasted like cat piss. They kept coming over and stealing our Community coffee.

Jim and his wife have been my customers for almost thirty years. Never anything but fine dealings. They have never been anything but friendly and polite. Fine people to me.

Mello Joy may be the worst coffee on the planet. Making your employees drink that shite is cruel in and of itself.
I used to stop for coffee at the Atchafalaya Welcome Center at Butte Larose but stopped when they went from Community to that swill.

For some reason I just find it hard to believe that someone could run a legitimate business like this, but maybe I’m wrong.

There is a lot of hate and mis-information in this thread, but we can all agree Community >>> Melo Joy

I never saw him fire someone on the elevator but he had no problem berating someone on personal appearance and dress. He reminded me more of a CSM than a commanding officer.

How many times per day was he taking the elevator or was he just waiting and stalking prey?
