There was the scene in Full Metal Jacket where they were marching in their underwear, weapons at right shoulder arms, singing this is my weapon, this is my gun and grabbing their package. If you called your M 14 rifle a gun, you had to do the march and then hit the deck for 50 push ups.
The exact same thing happened to me at Ft Bliss, TX, September of 1969. If you called your M 14 rifle a gun, you had to do the march and then hit the deck for 50 push ups.
it was so damn funny that we could not help but laugh. Everyone who laughed owed and extra 50 push ups.
And the haircut scene in the beginning, the trainees had to pay the barbers $2.00
