"Right"?

I’m really getting tired of people who pepper their speech with the annoying crutch word, “right”? When did this start? It’s always at the end of a statement-turned-question to somehow validate how smart they are. I know Donald Trump Jr uses it to the extreme. A few want-a-be cool managers use it at work. Maybe I’m just not with the in crowd, right?

It’s an incredibly simple way to immediately show you’re in agreement with what someone else said.
You people complain about the dumbest things here.

First time I heard that frequently used I was working with guys from the northeast.
But it sounds like something that might have migrated down from the old 1980s valley girl lingo.
Sorry, "...the old 1980s valley girl lingo, right?"

This has become an epidemic in shifty comedy routines. Instead of a punchline, they just tell a story of something really dumb or annoying and just say “really?”
It’s awful.

K, you gonna keep me posted, right?

Not as bad as cringe or any variation of it.
Also adding ing to a noun to use it as a verb.

I worst is when people say "literally".
As in: "I LITERALLY can't even right now"
