Depends on the hull design, size of ship, RPMs of propellers

That's what almost happened to that guy, along with his kill strap getting knocked off. Hes lucky he got it back on, notice how the whole jet ski was submerged there for a few seconds. The passing ship creates less dense water which means your flotation device doesn't work as well.

i was reading on reddit about this guy who fell off a cruise ship. the cold water alone will kill you, but what abut being dragged towards the propellors?
