The way this shite is going, the heat will likely just piss it off and make it spread even more.

But ironically enough, global warming may save us from something...lol!

I’m just glad this crap didn’t ramp up right before winter. At least we have that going for us.

I’m searching for positives here. Everyone is tired of the nonstop end of the world rhetoric

New research suggest that heat will slow the virus down. It hasn't been peer reviewed, but there research is based on the fact that they also grew the virus in the lab. So I'm going to be optimistic and say they are a little ahead of the curve here.

That’s what I’m talking about come on LFG. We need some positive energy back and we need the heat to do some work and clear out things for football. Geaux Tigahs

Not necessarily so. The experts point to H1N1 in 2009 that chugged right on through the summer and did not really abate until the FOLLOWING SUMMER.

Isn’t the corona virus really bad in Australia right now? Isn’t it hot as hell there?

Unfortunately, heat is not as bad for this virus as low humidity. It appears to be fairly heat tolerant in humid conditions.

ETA: take this with a grain of salt, I cannot find the story I read this in. If I find it I will post the link

It is surrounded by a lipid layer which is not very resistant to heat as the article suggests, but u fear pushes go ahead and stay as purely negative as u would like to be...

Theres no guarantee. There are a couple of papers out showing some correlation and encouraging looks but I caution people from taking this and expecting it to die off.

If that idea spreads too far it and the virus doesn't die we'll be worse off for it.

It seems to do well at 98.6 degrees or thereabouts.

Our summer is Australia’s winter. Cause of the hemisphere difference.
