Shawna Cepeda was dining at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse in West Covina and noticed her salad had a bitter taste, according to a Yelp review she posted on June 13. She began stirring the salad and found the frog.

Cepeda said she later received a $50 gift card from the restaurant’s corporate office.

These days people automatically associate an event like this with a lawsuit and her being "owed" a large sum. What harm did she incur? None. It's gross and the restaurant should comp their meal but that is about it. I bet she sues though.

Can guarantee you the lawsuit will claim mental anguish and potential future medical bills.

They'll settle out of court for 10k and call it a day

If their salad mix comes pre-packaged then it might fall back on the company that packages it. I've had situations, even though we prep and serve, where the food is guaranteed by that company and onus was deemed on them.

Omg. I've eaten at BJ's in Baton Rouge before, a few years ago. Crazy when you think how close you come to dodging an incident like this.

This crap is so dumb. She shouldnt win a lawsuit, although she prob will.

Its fricking lettuce that grows close to dirt. There will be stuff that makes it through the mass cleaning process.

When i worked in a restaurant, we preped our salad mix from fresh every day. 99.99% time it was fine. One time a customer found a bandaid in her salad. That was beyond gross. No words for that one. Worst thing i saw in 7 years i worked there.

Another example was bitch said there was too much water in her salad and demanded a free meal and future free meals. Gtfo.

Free frog legs with your salad? I fail to see the problem here.

Absolutely. The cost of idiots like this is built into the price of your meal. Nobody believes me but insurance isn't cheap.

It's California. You are a nazi fascists to assume that this is a frog without allowing it a safe space to explore all possible true identities therefore becoming its own, authentic spiritually awakened being.

And this.

How does a frog actually make it to the table? Very unlikely
