I don't blame you there. I tangentially am related to a nonprofit via my job, and a lot of these people are on boards just to be on them .. and often never show up to board meetings.
I'm too much of a people pleaser to bother with all that. It would take over so much of my life, and I work full time. I'll just keep attending and having fun participating in the auctions as my contribution.
